Meet the Founder Tom Egan
With over three decades of experience in indoor air quality and environmental remediation, Tom brings a depth of knowledge and hands-on expertise that is recognized across the industry. Since 1989, Tom has managed thousands of projects ranging from residential assessments to complex, multi-million-dollar commercial remediation efforts. His background includes extensive work in mold remediation, HVAC systems, air duct cleaning, fire and odor restoration, and advanced dehumidification solutions. Tom has collaborated closely with industrial hygienists and microbiologists throughout his career, contributing to the development of effective remediation strategies and serving as a trusted expert in both field operations and consulting roles.
Tom holds multiple certifications and licenses, including Florida State Mold Remediation, Mold Assessor and HVAC licenses. He is also a Certified Restorer and has numerous IICRC designations. In addition to founding and leading successful companies such as National Property Damage Experts in the North-East and American Air Conditioning & Restoration in Sarasota, FL which He sold in 2025. He has been recognized as an industry leader, educator, and expert witness in legal proceedings. Tom's work has been featured on HGTV, and has developed and taught training and seminars, including at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.. Today, as the founder of True Check Inspections, He focuses on providing independent indoor air quality assessments, mold inspections, HVAC inspections and consulting services—helping property owners make informed decisions with confidence and clarity.
